The Myanmar Desk works to foster business and industry relations between these countries and Israel. The Chamber is uniquely positioned to help members develop their networks and achieve their objectives in Myanmar.
The Israel-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce is managed by Mr. Eyal Avishay, who is keen to support the Israeli business community in venturing into each of the Two countries. The Desk cooperates with the representatives of Myanmar in Israel, as well as with relevant organizations abroad.
Eyal Avishay has over 30 years’ experience in top management positions in various medium-size to large multinational Israeli companies. He has vast experience in corporate–field unit relations, establishing business enterprises such as sales and marketing subsidiaries, joint ventures in the Far East, regional supply chain arrays and production facilities. Eyal has worked in the Asian market for over 15 years and has acquired an in-depth knowledge of the culture and customs there, based on which he has been able to establish strong bonds and connections with employees, partners and clients.
Since 2014 Eyal has led global operations as VP Asia of TAHAL Group, a leading provider of sustainable infrastructure development projects in developing countries worldwide. Committed to excellence, he has managed the group’s operations in Asia skilfully, and is sharply focused on one of the most critical challenges facing us today – water and food security for people around the globe. He has a proven track record of understanding and meeting client needs and objectives, and is currently leading several teams in developing and implementing sustainable, eco-friendly and cost-effective solutions in the water and agricultural sectors.
Before joining TAHAL Group, Eyal was CEO of MEC Angola, an infrastructure company in the electrical and mechanical works, served as VP Corporate Processes for Netafim, and held senior roles in Marketing and Sales with other global companies.
Eyal has a B.Sc. degree in Economy and Management from the Faculty of Engineering and Management, Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. In 2003 he completed the Technion’s Senior Management Business Program for Global Companies (TIM).
Eyal is married with two children.
